A customer reached out about building a retaining wall behind their shed to prepare for a new storage lean-to. They were initially considering hauling in massive 3,000-lb concrete blocks, but I knew we could offer a better solution with the Forix system.
First, these blocks are much easier to transport to a rural property since they weigh about a third as much as traditional solid units. But the real advantage is in the design. Forix blocks feature triangular rear legs that create an “arching effect.” Once backfilled, the weight of the soil actually presses down on the units, locking them securely into place.
The system is also far more versatile than large solid blocks. Thanks to the geometry, we can easily build tight curves or crisp 90-degree corners without compromising strength.
On top of that, we can finish the wall to match the customer’s vision. Whether it’s a clean, natural backfill right to the edge or a finished stone border for a more refined look, the result is a durable, well-draining wall built to last.
