A customer in Ferryville, WI, reached out to us about a new purchased property. He wanted to transform the overgrown land into a functional getaway where he could easily park his camper. Before finding us, he contacted several other contractors who either turned the job down because it was “too big of a mess” or simply stopped responding.
The site was a minefield of stumps, and with no driveway, access required navigating a dry creek bed. Piles of brush and old logging debris outlined the area, making the hillside look like a war zone.
We developed a plan to clear the lower flat, stacking the larger logs off to the side for easy firewood access and mulching the small tops. We removed the hidden stumps and regraded the bottom yard to open up the yard. To ensure the camper could get in safely, we cut in a proper approach and ensured everything worked. We had also forestry mulched about 2 acres of hillside to clean up the area. We also refreshed the existing trails and added a connecting path.
Originally, the plan was just to gravel the road and parking pad. However, I suggested adding a wrap-around drive around the fire pit to pull the space together—and it turned out great. To finish the project, we installed electrical service for the camper, ensuring the site is ready if they ever decide to build in the future.
